Senior Staff Accountant

Job description:

Join our team at Eaton Metal Products, a firm dedicated to excellence.

As a Senior Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and contributing to the overall success of the accounting team.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing procedures, inclusive of preparing and reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations and participating in and preparing for variance reviews.

  • Lead and collaborate on assigned projects, continuously improving departmental quality by creating efficiencies, streamlining repetitive processes, and leveraging technology.

  • Submit sales taxes owed on a monthly basis and support the preparation of sales tax filings and other regulatory sales tax compliance requirements.

  • Accurately record hourly employees’ timecard for payroll.

  • Ad hoc duties as required by the company.

Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
  • CPA or MBA preferred.
  • 3-5 + years of accounting experience and knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, accruals and financial controls.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Experience with Sage Preferred
